Pasco County's lagoon craze is heating up.
State of play: Peak Surf Park secured 35 acres of land in Wesley Chapel to build a fake beach complete with machine-powered waves that visitors can surf, the company announced in a news release.
- It'll be part of Two Rivers, a 6,000-acre master-planned development off State Road 56.
- Along with the lagoon and a half-mile of sandy beach, the project will feature event venues, bars and restaurants, shops and more.
The big picture: The project is the latest lagoon for the Tampa Bay area, joining Mirada and Epperson in Pasco and Southshore Bay in Wimauma.
What we're watching: Peak Surf Park is expected to open in 2027.
