San Diego FC kicks off the 2026 MLS season at Snapdragon Stadium on Saturday against CF Montréal.
Why it matters: The home opener marks the start of SDFC's run at another record-breaking MLS season — and first championship trophy.
Catch up quick: In its inaugural season, SDFC finished first in the West and made an exciting playoff run before losing in Western Conference Finals.
- Star players Anders Dreyer and Jeppe Tverskov signed extended contracts, while the club announced it was parting ways with Chucky Lozano. But he's still on the roster.
- The team has already played two non-MLS games this year in the Concacaf Champions Cup. With a 4-2 aggregate win, SDFC advanced to the next round in March.
Driving the news: This will be the first time SDFC plays CF Montréal, which finished 13th in the Eastern Conference last season.
- The game starts at 7:30pm, with tailgating, live music and fan activities beforehand. Watch it on Apple TV.
- Tickets start at $52, and last year's home opener sold out.
