Three SDFC players named to 2025 MLS All-Star team

San Diego FC's Anders Dreyer, Jeppe Tverskov and Hirving "Chucky" Lozano were named to the 2025 MLS All-Star team Wednesday.

Why it matters: In their debut season, SDFC's three stars are recognized as among the best in the league alongside Lionel Messi and several U.S. Men's National Team players.

Driving the news: The MLS All-Star team will face the best players from LIGA MX, Mexico's top soccer league, on July 23 at Austin FC's Q2 Stadium.

The 26-man roster was selected through a combination of fan, player, and media voting, and picks by coach Nico Estévez and MLS commissioner Don Garber.
The game will be broadcast on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.

State of play: Dreyer and Lozano have been integral to SDFC's attack as the leading goal scorers through the first half of the season, though Lozano has recently battled a hamstring injury.

The club (10-3-5) currently sits at second in the Western Conference behind Vancouver. Those two teams face off Wednesday night.

What's next: SDFC plays FC Dallas in Texas on Saturday.

The team returns to Snapdragon Stadium on July 5 to play the Houston Dynamo for a special Stars and Stripes Night honoring military members.
