Classic Christmas, San Antonio's new winter wonderland, is lighting up the city's cheer calendar.
Why it matters: The event brings a new sparkle to San Antonio's growing list of holiday traditions, which recently added Winterfest and Holidays on Houston Street to its lineup.
The vibe: The new event at Toyota Field is one giant photo opportunity. Guests are welcomed by a glittering archway that's begging for a snapshot.
- The magic continues inside with a towering tree made of lights, giant candy canes galore, an adults-only hideaway with an illuminated "jingle if you're single" photo-op wall, an ice skating rink, market, snow slide and more.
By the numbers: Classic Christmas spans 55,000 square feet across the field.
- Ticket prices vary depending on the day and time, but start at $21 for adults.
- An admission and activities bundle, which includes passes for ice skating and the snow slide, is $40 for adults and $32 for juniors (ages 4-17).
Between the lines: Enchant Christmas, which is renowned as the world's largest Christmas light maze, designed the local event.
What's next: Classic Christmas' calendar is speckled with themed nights including Friday's Country Christmas presented by the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo. Expect live country music and line dancing.
- Saturday is also Spurs and San Antonio FC night. There'll be meet-and-greets with players and photo opportunities with the Spurs championship trophies.
- Ticket prices vary for themed nights.
Reality check: Classic Christmas sold out every night last weekend, according to its public relations team, so guests are encouraged to buy tickets in advance.
My thought bubble: As a self-proclaimed cheer connoisseur, I was excited about Classic Christmas since it was announced and I have to say, it was worth the wait.
- I was mesmerized from the moment I walked in and didn't want to leave. I've been recommending it to family and friends ever since.
