Richmond's mini Renaissance Faire returns for two days in August

The organizers of the Richmond Renaissance Faire are bringing their summertime mini Ren Faire back to Agecroft Hall in August.

Why it matters: The event might be two weeks away, but tickets to last year's mini-faire sold out before the gates opened.

State of play: Virago Alley's Warriors in Bloom will take over Richmond's only 16th-century Tudor manor Aug. 1-2.

Organizers added an extra day this summer to meet demand, per a news release.
Like its previous faires, this one will feature combat demonstrations, themed food, local artisans, activities for kiddos and more.

New this summer: Storytelling and music in an "activated tavern," which we're calling Ye Old Tavern.

Plus: an immersive quest and new demonstrations, including a traditional tea ceremony and Qigong fundamentals.

If you go: Tickets are $23.07. Last summer's event sold out the night before. The spring event sold out about a month in advance.

The bottom line: If you want to Ren Faire, or even if you're Ren Faire-curious, consider this your first — and only — alert to secure tickets now.
