Where Ya Bin opens Chesterfield store on Friday. Here's what to expect

I'm still emotionally recovering from my first trip to Where Ya Bin, the big-box store returns re-sale chain that opened in Henrico in March.
Why it matters: Where Ya Bin's second local store opens Friday in Chesterfield.
How it works: Where Ya Bin buys "truckloads" of big box returns and overstocks weekly for its nine stores.
- Every Friday, it distributes the returns into massive be-wheeled bins, with everything priced at $10.
- Prices drop daily to $7 on Saturdays, $5 on Sundays and hit just 25 cents on Thursday.
As a self-professed lover of discount shopping, I decided to check out the Henrico store on a Monday, aka $3 day, which in retrospect likely meant weekend leftovers.
What to expect: Chaos, and a whole lot of clothes, generally from Target, and mostly in women's size small or XXXL. In many bins, there was also:
- An occasional single shoe
- A miscellaneous kitchen accessory (loose cheese-grater attachment, anyone?)
- Troves of empty boxes, despite the sign telling people not to open boxes
Worth noting: On Fridays, Where Ya Bin Richmond posts photos of shoppers' big deal finds, like robot vacuums and complete bedding sets.
- Now I know why they post them on Fridays.
Yes, but: I rooted my way through enough bins of what felt like highly flammable sweatshirts (and one XS faux fur coat) to some real finds.
My haul: A garden gazing ball, two convertible phone chargers and one crocheted dog toy.
The bottom line: With tax, I spent $12.74 on four things I didn't need — which is way less than the roughly $76 it would've cost to buy them directly.
- And that, sadly, might've made the trip worth it.
