Zoom in: Shanahan, who also owns Watts & Ward in downtown, is opening Capulet with co-owner Robby Opperman and beverage director Zack Thomas, previously of Boatman Spirits.
This 2,700-square-foot bar, which has room for 75 indoor seats as well as a courtyard, is decked out in Renaissance-style design and artwork.
What to expect: A menu that is heavy on European influence, including a classic Negroni remixed with hibiscus floater and a cocktail featuring an Italian bergamot liqueur mixed with vermouth and Verjus.
Among the mocktails is a modern take on the Cherry Bounce, a historic drink created in Raleigh.
Next summer, The Capulet will add an outdoor garden bar.
