Scott Crawford's highly anticipated Cary steakhouse opens soon

Between the lines: Crawford has described his new restaurant as celebrating the nostalgic tradition of a steakhouse — with an emphasis on cuts of dry-aged beef and cocktails — mixed with a modern design, Axios' Zachery Eanes wrote.

• The dining room is filled with floor-to-ceiling windows, giving diners views of both the outside and the kitchen. It also boasts a wine library and artwork from Raleigh artist Thomas Sayre.
• At 4,500 square feet, the new steakhouse is by far Crawford's largest project yet, per the Raleigh News & Observer. It accommodates 120 diners.

Zoom out: It's been a big year for Crawford, a James Beard semifinalist.

• In March, the acclaimed chef opened the Croatian-inspired Brodeto in Raleigh. A few months later, he opened the speakeasy Sous Terre in Raleigh's Oakwood neighborhood. He also opened Crawford's Genuine in RDU's Terminal 2 in September.
• On top of those, his established restaurants Crawford & Son and Jolie are among the most popular in Raleigh.
