The fastest-growing private company in the Triangle is a manufacturer of crochet kits for children and beginners, according to Inc. Magazine's annual list.
Zoom in: The Woobles, a Chapel Hill-based DIY crochet set manufacturer, started selling its kits in 2020. The kits, which range from $25 to more than $300, feature small animal creatures and teach the basics of crocheting.
- More than half a million people have bought products from the company, which was founded by Duke alums Justine Tiu and Adrian Zhang, according to Inc.
- In the past three years, the company's revenue has grown more than 10,000%.
Also at the top of Inc.'s list locally were:
- BaseMonkeys, a digital ad agency in Raleigh with growth of 1,867%
- ChicknLegs, a Cary-based maker of flamboyant running shorts. Its revenue is up 1,200% in the past three years.
- RBM Plumbing Systems, a construction firm out of Holly Springs with growth of 1,163%.
- Dr. Judy Morgan's Naturally Healthy Pets, a Wendell-based seller of health supplements for pets. Its revenue is up 991%, per Inc.
Other notable companies making appearances:
- Raleigh communications software maker Levitate. Its revenue is up 652% over the past three years.
- Relay, a smart walkie-talkie maker in Raleigh. Revenue there is up 531%.
- Chapel Hill software company CData, which is up 434%.
- Pendo, one of Raleigh's most successful recent software startups, came in with revenue growth of 275%
- And Fleet Feet, a Carrboro-based running store chain, has grown 248%.
