Phoenix's Peruvian chicken shopMr. Pio is one of the best new restaurants in America, according to a new Eater ranking.
Zoom in: The strip mall spot, which opened late last year on Thomas Road near 46th Street, uses a rare Josper rotisserie oven to roast its birds.
Owners and chefs Justin Nasralla and David Goluboff ditched their fine dining careers to bring top-notch, affordable Peruvian chicken to the masses, Eater reports.
Best bites: The menu's only entree is chicken — sourced from a single Pennsylvania farm and served either shredded or whole.
Each serving comes with creamy orange, yellow and green dipping sauces.
The bottom line: "This sort of simplicity isn't just sophisticated; it's primordially satisfying," Eater writes.
