🚨 First Friday is here! Look for special events and exhibits at galleries, showrooms and shops across the city. They include:
- A re-release party of the Beatles' "Rubber Soul" album at Hideaway Music in Chestnut Hill from 5-8pm.
- East Passyunk will be lit up with cool light projections, interactive installations and music from 7-11pm at 11th Street and E Passyunk Ave.
🍿 Reel October will be showing classic flicks on 35mm all weekend, including "Birth" tonight and "A Separation" on Sunday at the Film Society's theater in Center City.
- An all-day movie marathon is also set for Saturday starting at noon. Tickets: $14-$30
📐 The Design Philadelphia Festival is in full swing.
- Look for fashion shows, discussions, exhibitions, workshops and tours through Oct. 11. (Pay as you go.)
🎃 Liberty Point's Cityside Pumpkin Patch brings the family-friendly fall experience to Philly's waterfront. Expect carinval games, Halloween themed treats, a pumpkin smashing zone and other autumnal accoutrements. Runs through Nov. 1.
- Tickets: $13.90 per person, times vary each day.
👻 Halloween Nights is back at Eastern State Penitentiary. The immersive experience features five haunted houses, Halloween-themed bars, lounges and live performances.
- Tickets: $49+
😱 Get scared at the Fright Factory in South Philly. This haunted house is not for the faint of heart: 25,000 square feet of terror awaits you inside a more than century-old warehouse.
- Tickets: $35+
🥁 The Revolutionary Germantown Festival is Saturday from 10am-4pm at the Cliveden house.
- Step back in time and watch blacksmithing, tour the Cliveden house, hear historical reenactors and sip locally made hard cider.
⛵ The Cup Regatta is Saturday on the Delaware River. Watch sailors in more than two dozen boats battle the choppy waters as they race for first place.
- Races start at around 10:25am near the Ben Franklin Bridge and ends near the Coast Guard's Delaware Bay base. Good places to watch: Penn's Landing and Cherry Street Pier.
🏳🌈 Out & About in Manayunk on Saturday will feature a drag story time (11am), dance party and showings of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" ($23+) to mark the upcoming National Coming Out Day.
🍻 Roxroberfest takes over Ridge Avenue from Leverington to Lyceum Avenues.
- The rundown includes three stages of live entertainment, eats, beer gardens, family activities and a pet costume contest. 11am-5pm.
🎉 It's a party in North Philly! Norf Philly Day is Saturday at Chalmers Park.
- Family activities, games, eats, and live music headlined by Zay Money and RJ.
