Why a giant crane appeared at Six Flags Great Adventure

The really big picture: Once completed, the ride is expected to rank among the five tallest roller coasters in the world — which explains why crews need a really, really big crane to assemble it.

• The crane's 100-foot jib will give workers the extra reach needed to install the coaster's highest track sections and support structures.

What we're watching: What they're gonna name the behemoth.

• Amusement park officials say an official announcement is still TBD.
