Broad Street Run to bring road closures this weekend

State of play: The run, billed as the largest 10-mile race in the U.S., begins at 7am on N Broad Street near W Fisher Avenue and Central High School's athletic field in North Philly.

• Runners will follow Broad Street down to the finish line at the Navy Yard in South Philly.

🚇 1 free thing: All registered runners can ride the Broad Street Line for free until noon.

• Participants must display their official competitor's race bib number to a SEPTA cashier to gain entry.

🚫 What to expect: No parking is permitted along the entirety of the race route on Broad Street from Olney Avenue to the Navy Yard, starting at 2am.

🚧 Road closures: Expect the race start area to be closed on Broad Street from Olney to Windrim Avenues, beginning at 4am.

• The city will shut down the entirety of the course to traffic at 7am.

⛔ Plus: The Walt Whitman Bridge/Packer Avenue exit in South Philly on I-95 South is closed due to construction.

• Instead, use Exit 20 (Columbus Boulevard/Washington Avenue).

❗ Drivers are warned: Avoid areas around the course during the race on Sunday, the city says.

🚶🏾 Pedestrians should expect delays when crossing along the race route.

• Police will allow people to walk through intersections when possible.

🚌 Several SEPTA bus routes will be detoured from around 5:45am on Sunday through roughly 5pm.

🟢 Roads will reopen as they are cleared and serviced, with the entirety of the route to be open by noon.
