Spot special 250th anniversary street furniture across Philly

Philly is sprucing up its public spaces with new street furniture inspired by America's 250th anniversary.

Why it matters: Call it a birthday gift — one that brings benches and bike racks to neighborhoods that need them.

By the numbers: The beautification project, which began popping up in recent weeks across town, includes:

58 benches.
63 bike racks.
161 planters.

🔔 Each is decorated with a Liberty Bell and "250" branding.

The big picture: It's all part of the city's new neighborhood-focused "Ring It On! One Philly, A United Celebration" initiative, which will target 20 commercial corridors and parks this year for the semiquincentennial.

The initiative will bring festivals, markets, cultural events, block parties, art installations and neighborhood tours to communities throughout the city. (See the the full list.)

Plus: 27 replica Liberty Bells designed by local artists will pop up across the city.
