You know spring is in the air when the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society's pop-up gardens sprout back up.

Why it matters: Plants from the Philadelphia Flower Show get a second act at the gardens in Manayunk and South Street this year.

What's happening: Both locations are open daily depending on the weather.

🎉 Save the date: On March 27, each gardens will throw a grand opening, which will kick off their seven-day-a-week schedules that run through the late fall.

🌳 Worth noting: Proceeds from the pop-up gardens the society's regional greening efforts.

🏖️ Manayunk menu: You'll feel just like you're at the shore, with a lineup of boardwalk-inspired faves, including fried clams, fish and chips and chicken kabobs.

🥨 South Street: Count on sticky chai pretzel bites, and Jamaican jerk wings with pineapple and passionfruit chutney.

📅 The gardens have a packed calendar of free and ticketed events this season, plus monthly workshops, inspired by this year's Flower Show "rooted" theme.

🐛 1 cool thing: Manayunk is hosting a Sunday garden market this season, pairing shopping and brunch together with plenty of local vendors, food drinks and music.
