Andalusia Historic House has the cure for your cabin fever

Driving the news: The gardens are unveiling two new exhibits, focused on America's 250th birthday, and six 12-foot rose pillars and topiaries when it opens for the season later this month.

Zoom in: Through manuscripts and other historical artifacts, the exhibition, "Revolutionary Family," highlights the Biddle family's contributions to the Revolutionary War before they founded the Andalusia estate in 1795.

• Case in point: One family member helped develop wartime technology used to sink enemy ships.
• Plus: The exhibit "Radical Americana" will showcase new works, including Jody Graff's large-scale compositions using pressed leaves from Andalusia's gardens.

🦅 1 fun thing: A steel chair celebrating past and present Philly pride from artist Sophie Glenn, which includes references to the Eagles and "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia."

🌳 What else: English garden designer Arabella Lennox-Boyd, who helped reimagine the gardens in 2016, designed the six new rose pillars and topiaries in the Walled Garden.
