Stephen Starr's Borromini opens today in Rittenhouse

Case in point: The restaurant's Instagram account had more than 14,000 followers before serving a single meal.

The big picture: The Philly restaurateur is expanding his grip on the city's dining scene.

• His collection of restaurants already rank among Philly's most popular, including Parc, LMNO and Frankford Hall.
• Meanwhile, his empire has grown to include more than 35 properties across a handful of cities, including Washington, D.C.

State of play: The more than 15,000-square-foot space spans two floors and features 1920 finishes, exposed beams, mosaic tilework and vaulted ceilings.

• Al fresco dining is also available.
• The restaurant will open with only dinner service, and lunch and brunch are expected to be added later this year.

🍝 Menu: Expect upscale Italian, featuring fresh takes on pasta favorites such as carbonara ($22), as well as must-try dishes, like a 100-layer lasagna ($27).

• Other signature dishes include clam pizzetta ($19) and focaccia di recco ($26).

🍷 Drinks: Choose from a selection of Italian wines and Champagne.

• 🍸 The cocktail selection includes the pomodoro martini, made with vodka, tomato gin, basil eau de vie and fresh tomatoes ($18).

🗣️ Starr's pick: Starr tells Axios that spaghetti al limone (fresh lemon, butter and parsley) is the dish that best represents his new spot for all diners — whether you're a Starr newbie or seasoned vet.
