Phillies closer Jhoan Durán's entrance still has legs

The big picture: When the Phillies acquired one of baseball's best closers, they also got the game's best choreographed entrance — which the Minnesota Twins had perfected to match Durán's imposing nickname: Durantula, per The Athletic.

• Durán debuted his trademark trot-in wearing a Phillies jersey over the weekend, and Citizens Bank gave it a very Philly spin.

How it works: The Liberty Bell-inspired Undertaker bell — borrowed from the WWE wrestler — tolls as the lights cut off at the Bank.

• Then a custom mashup of "El Incomprendido" by Farruko and "Hot" by Pitbull and Daddy Yankee fills the stadium speaker.
• Durán trots out while his flame-embossed name and a giant tarantula crawl across the stadium's LED screen and fans raise their camera-phone flashlights.

What they're saying: The Twins communications department spent more than 500 hours creating the entrance. They never hesitated about sharing it with the Phillies when Durán was traded.

• "It's the right thing to do," Minnesota's vice president of communications Dustin Morse told The Athletic. "This is for the greater good of baseball fans."

The bottom line: The Phillies hope their new South Philly stinger's entrance is as crippling to opponents as his 103-mph fastball — now and in the playoffs.
