Women hold fewer than a third of municipal offices throughout Pennsylvania, per a new analysis from the Center for American Women and Politics at Rutgers University.
State of play: Pennsylvania now ranks 34th in the nation for gender parity at the local level – falling three places since last year.
By the numbers: Roughly 29% of women hold those posts in the Commonwealth in cities with populations above 10,000, per the report.
Meanwhile, Pennsylvania's state Legislature is only slightly better at 32%.
