Philly is toughest on pizza "crime"

Driving the news: Philadelphians rated our pizza fifth-best among more than two dozen of the nation's most populous metro areas, per Current Backyard's "Pizza Wars" survey.

• The average Philadelphian orders about 4.7 pizzas a month and would need more than $13.7 million to accept a pizza bribe — agreeing to never eat another slice in our life.
• That's a lot of dough but still below the national average of $14.6 million.

How it works: The electric grill maker surveyed 6,500 adults in 25 of the nation's most populous cities.

Threat level: Eating a New York-style pizza (Philly's fave) with a fork and knife is the quickest way to find yourself in deep-dish trouble in Philly.

Philly's favorite toppings: Pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, extra cheese and onions.

• Ricotta was also a popular topping. Apparently it's a Philly thing.

We hate: Anchovies, jalapenos and black olives (tied), pineapple, banana peppers and feta.

The bottom line: Do the pizza crime, do the time. FAFO!
