Philadelphia's metro ranked 11th in the U.S. for artificial intelligence job openings in January, researchers say.
Why it matters: The region is an emerging AI hub.
- Plus: The emerging tech is popping up around the city, including Philadelphia schools and SEPTA buses.
State of play: The region had 378 job listings requiring AI skills, representing 2.15% of AI job openings among the country's top 75 metros.
Zoom out: Topping the list were New York and Seattle.
How it works: The estimates come from UMD-LinkUp AI Maps, a collaboration between the University of Maryland, job listings platform LinkUp and Outrigger Group, a consultancy and executive firm.
