The world's oldest newlyweds are from Philadelphia

Flashback: The couple met at a costume party at their retirement home in Philadelphia, where they moved after losing their spouses of more than 60 years.

• But long before that, they both had attended the University of Pennsylvania at the same time, never once meeting. Littman eventually became an engineer and Fiterman a teacher.

Their families were surprised to learn of their decision to tie the knot this year after nine years of dating.

• The wedding took place at the retirement home, attended by four generations of Littmans.
