A Miles Teller lookalike contest on Sunday drew nearly two dozen contestants to Rittenhouse Square to see who was the most like the wavy-haired actor from "Top Gun: Maverick."
Why it matters: The Downingtown actor is a certified heartthrob and the contest brought together hundreds on a chilly day after the Philadelphia Marathon.
The big picture: Celebrity lookalike contests are all the rage, popping up in big US cities including Chicago, Washington, D.C., and New York.
Driving the news: In Philly, 22 vied for bragging rights and the first place prize — a cheesesteak from Angelo's Pizzeria South Philly — for the light-hearted contest held in front of the park's fountain.
The winner: Henry Luce, a 19-year-old Penn State student from Springfield.
- "Everyone else here is wearing a costume. This is what I look like every day," he said during the event.
Context: Organizers Gabi Greco and Helene Chibane began advertising the contest last week on social media and Reddit.
What they're saying: Chibane tells Axios the high turnout was unexpected.
- "You never know what happens when you get a whole bunch of strangers together. We all had a good time!" she tells Axios.
