Jason Kelce wears a lot of hats, arguably too many. And now he's adding Santa's to his growing collection.
Why it matters: From dethroning Mariah Carey as "Christmas Queen" to donning a leggy black robe by a crackling fire as Campbell's Chunky soup sexpot, the retired Eagles center is this holiday season's tour de force.
Driving the news: With his new "A Philly Special Christmas Party" album out Friday, Kelce is the gift that keeps on giving:
- The star player announced proceeds from the album will benefit "Operation Snowball," a citywide initiative to ensure every boy and girl, the tall and the small, enrolled in the Philly school district gets a gift this holiday.
The intrigue: Kelce said during his hit podcast this week that the two previous albums earned more than $50 million for dozens of charities.
Zoom out: Understandably, Philly can't ever get enough of their folk hero, but for some Americans — including fellow Axios colleagues — this generation's Hulk-smashing Bro Jesus is reaching the cultural saturation point.
What they're saying: "We have a long tradition of former NFL players turning pitchmen (we still see you Fridge), but enough of Jason Kelce. He doesn't have to be in EVERYTHING," Axios Chicago's Justin Kaufmann tells us.
- "Who is Ohio more sick of hearing about: this guy or JD Vance? Man, it's tough!" says Axios Columbus' Alissa Widman Neese.
The bottom line: To our beloved co-workers let's say: We hear you!
- But "hungry dogs run faster." So for now, let that cornfed Cleveland Heights ham cook!
