The Birds are traveling to face reigning NFC East champs the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday at Jerry World, an inhospitable place where they've lost six straight games.
Yes, but: Right now, it's the Eagles' world, and Dallas owner Jerry Jones is just living in it.
State of play: The teams' 131st meeting is a story of contrasts: The Eagles have won four consecutive games and are second in the division behind Washington.
- The Cowboys (3-5) are reeling. They've lost three straight games and are turning to backup QB Cooper Rush after Dak Prescott tore his hamstring in last week's loss to the Falcons.
- Prescott may need surgery and is out for at least four weeks.
Zoom in: The teams have been racked by injuries to key players, including Eagles tight-end Dallas Goedert and star wideouts A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. The trio has collectively missed seven games.
- Brown returned to practice earlier this week after injuring his knee last week against Jacksonville, and Goedert looks on track to return.
- Dallas' best wideout, CeeDee Lamb, told reporters he expects to play after hurting his shoulder last week. Stud linebacker Michah Parsons could return after missing four games with an injured ankle.
The intrigue: No excuses in Birdland. The Eagles played well through the pain, and running back Saquon Barkley is inventing new moves. The "Birdle," anyone?
- Meanwhile, the Cowboys have looked painfully bad.
Just how bad: The Boys are getting trolled for giving up a fourth-round draft pick to acquire former Panthers wide receiver Jonathan Mingo, who has caught a total of 12 passes for 121 yards this season.
Yep, the Cowboys are playing like buns in Jerry World.
- But if the Eagles lose to this taped-together team, you can bet head coach Nick Sirianni will find his buns back in the hot seat.
What's next: Kickoff is at 4:25pm on CBS.
