When to expect mail-in ballots in the Philadelphia region

State of play: The state's top election official certified the official list of candidates for the November election on Monday.

• That paves the way for county officials to begin printing mail-in ballots to send out, but timing will depend on jurisdiction.

Catch up quick: The certification process was delayed by a court case involving an independent presidential candidate.

• On Monday, the state Supreme Court rejected Cornel West's Justice for All Party bid to get on the ballot over paperwork issues.

How it works: Any registered voter can apply for a mail-in or absentee ballot until 5pm on Oct. 29. You can do so online, at your local county election office, or by mail.

• Completed mail-in ballots must be received by your local election office by 8pm on Nov. 5.
