Floats and giant balloons will return to the Benjamin Franklin Parkway this Thanksgiving.
What's happening: The 6ABC Dunkin' Donuts Thanksgiving Day Parade is set for 9am on Nov. 25, the television station and Mayor Jim Kenney announced Wednesday.
Flashback: The Philadelphia parade — hailed as the oldest Thanksgiving parade in the country — was canceled last year and went virtual after the city nixed all large events due to the pandemic.
What they're saying: "We're here to say it's back and it's live," said Bernie Prazenica, president and general manager of 6ABC, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer.
- Kenney told 6ABC that the parade "means a lot to the kids because it's fun for them. And it means a lot to the parents and grandparents because they can remember when they were kids, and it just keeps families together."
