Early birds with somewhere to be can rejoice because a Bella Vista food truck is serving breakfast starting at 6am.
🥓 State of play: I tried Driftwood Kitchen and Bakery's signature French toast sandwich ($8) — an ordinary egg, bacon and cheese sandwich made extraordinary by two slices of French toast instead of plain old bread. This was a delightful sweet and savory mashup.
- The breakfast burrito ($8) with sausage, egg, cheese and potato served with green or red salsa is a better bet for those who want something solely savory in the morning. They don't skimp on sausage here, and it's lean and well seasoned. This was a relief because biting into a hunk of greasy sausage is a terrible way to start the day if you ask me.
- I had heard hype about a cinnamon roll ($5), and the fuss is for good reason. It's a gooey treat with a nice vanilla icing on top.
🍳 Zoom out: I'm thankful for the few solid breakfast options in Bella Vista, but we certainly have room for more.
- Driftwood Kitchen and Bakery's regular breakfast menu also includes biscuits and gravy and a bowl with hash browns, bacon and eggs. Stop by to check out pastries, and watch social media for lunchtime offerings.
📍 Stop by: Opens at 6am Tuesday through Saturday, 13467 Lookout Drive #4 in Bella Vista. Check social media for hours.
