Walmart, Sam's Club bundle memberships for $120

• The move continues a push toward memberships, which encourage store loyalty and offer increasingly popular same-day delivery for everyday items like groceries.

By the numbers: Shoppers can get a Sam's Club Plus membership and a Walmart+ membership for $120 total. Those who already have both accounts can link their accounts and receive a prorated refund.

• The Sam's Club Plus membership costs $120 a year, so members can essentially add the $98 Walmart+ for free.

The fine print: The bundle includes Sam's Club Plus, not the basic $60 membership.

Flashback: Sam's Club, a big box store where shoppers typically buy in bulk, has long operated on a membership basis. Walmart launched the Walmart+ membership program in 2020 in competition with Amazon Prime.

• Sam's Club membership prices increased this year from $50 to $60 for a basic and $110 to $120 for a plus.

💭 Thought bubble: Alex linked her two memberships and already has a pending $55 refund.
