Monday Munchies: Pizza Lottie's

• "Around here, we think of Pizza Lottie's as Pizzeria Ruby's adventure-hungry little sis — raised in the same family but chasing her own stories," Lottie's website reads. "Different souls, but the same bloodline."

What to expect: I'm not so sure the sisters aren't fraternal twins — not identical but close enough to confuse their names.

Dig in: To be fair to the owners, I've sampled only the pizza at both places and not the many, many other dishes.

• There are different menu options — Lottie's Alfredo ($19) looks to replace pistachio Alfredo ($20), and I heard one patron complain that the lumache alla vodka ($20), a fave at Ruby's, was missing at Lottie's.

While slightly frustrating in some ways, it's also inspired, and it might be a way to keep the menu evolving and the quality high.

The verdict: The New York-style Italian sausage and garlic pizza ($30), plus onions, was top-shelf. Giant, foldable slices begging for a mouth.

• Next time, spaghetti.
