OZ Trails is signing up founding memberships for its new 200-acre bike park in Bella Vista, with Walmart heir Tom Walton pitching in an email to supporters. Membership is a chance for riders to help shape the park's culture from day one, and get early access.
The big picture: The push marks the latest step in Northwest Arkansas' effort to build a national outdoor recreation brand around cycling.
Driving the news: Walton said the OZ Trails Bike Park grew out of years of planning and was designed to match the ambition of the region's trail community.
He framed the park as more than a biking amenity, saying it was built to support family time, skill progression and a broader outdoor lifestyle.
Zoom in:Founding memberships for individuals run $99 per month or $199 per month for families, and the rates are locked in for two years.
The park opens to the public on June 12, but founding members will start riding as early as May 15.
