Downtown Bentonville's newest hotel, The Compton, promised to bring much more than a nice place to stay with event space, a Tuscan steak and pasta restaurant, a café — and a bar, The Eddy.
🌳 The vibe: You come for the vibe. The whole place, including The Eddy, is gorgeous. Especially at night when you're (probably) more likely to go for a cocktail and can look out onto the square from the hotel's second story.
- The Compton's architecture is all about incorporating the outdoors with an atrium and limestone wall right in the lobby.
💰 Yes, but: You also pay for the vibe. Two cocktails after tax and tip were $45, but I was so starry eyed at how breathtaking the space was that I was like, whatever, and nearly ordered another round. So I recommend knowing yourself and your budget before entering.
- While there are some reasonable food options like a $20 burger and fries, you can quickly rack up a bill with $40 scallops or $52 steak frites.
🍹 What to try: The Mora ($16) with whiskey, rum, blackberry and sage isn't overly fruity, but it's an easy sipper.
- If you order the Pepperoncini Martini ($15) with vodka, vermouth, pepperoncini and saline, you better really like sour pepperoncini flavors.
📍 Stop by: 4-10pm Sunday through Thursday and 4-11pm Friday and Saturday at 200 E. Central Ave. in Bentonville.
