Mixed-use project planned for Bentonville square

• The Hart on Main is the work of Texas-based real estate company Riverside plus Steuart and Tom Walton's real estate company Blue Crane and their holding company Runway Group.

By the numbers: The plan is for about 50,000 square feet of retail, food and beverage space and 45,000 square feet of office space. Exact numbers are approximate and subject to change, but it's also expected to include 184 apartments and 17 condos, spokesperson Amanda Horn told Axios.

Zoom in: The Hart on Main will have underground parking, Horn said. As part of the project, the historic Benton County Jail will be preserved and restored. Details on specific plans for the jail are to be determined.

What they're saying: "The north side of the Square was last renovated in the 1980s, when the majority of the original buildings were taken down and rebuilt," according to a news release.
