AG opens office at University of Arkansas and addresses dean fallout

University of Arkansas Chancellor Charles Robinson and Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin announced the opening of a satellite AG office on Wednesday that will be in a UA-owned building in downtown Fayetteville.

What they're saying: "I have every confidence in the University of Arkansas — in this law school — to attract talent. Whether that's student talent or faculty talent," Robinson said when Axios asked whether there were concerns about recruiting talent after the university rescinded an offer made for a new law school dean.

"For every student who disagreed with [the rescinded offer], there are many more that agreed with it," Griffin said during the announcement.

"The assumption of your question is: Because her contract was rescinded, we might have a more difficult time finding great students. Nonsense.
"How about, because her contract was rescinded, you're gonna get a lot of great students that otherwise, maybe wouldn't have considered Arkansas?"

What's next: The university said last week it has begun searching for an interim law school dean.
