Fayetteville has a new spot you won't want to leave.
🏡 State of play: Moonhouse Coffee Bar & Bistro is inside a former house in downtown Fayetteville, and it still feels like a home. The layout seems largely still intact, with an upstairs with multiple rooms where you can be alone with your coffee or have a more intimate catch-up with friends.
😌 The vibe: Chill and eclectic with a menu that includes a classic coffee shop menu of muffins and bagels — but also sushi. Fayetteville funky, for sure.
- This can easily be a morning or evening meeting spot.
- I plopped down on a couch and chatted with a friend and then got some work done in the same space. And I would go back to do either again.
☕️ What I drank and ate: I started off with a Winter Orchard ($6.25), a coffee with orange cinnamon and vanilla, and it was so nice on a chilly day. This is a seasonal item, but my friend had a regular latte, and we think you're safe with whatever strikes your fancy on the coffee menu.
- 🥃 I later switched to a cocktail, a Porch Swing Sipper ($10), with whiskey, apple cider and lemon. They're not doing anything crazy here, as most of the cocktails have just a few ingredients, but they will make you a good, simple cocktail that hits right.
- 🍣 The Razorback gyoza ($5.50) — pork dumplings — made for a tasty snack, and I was happy with the quality of the sushi. I got the rainbow roll ($12) with cream cheese, avocado, surimi, tuna and salmon.
