I checked out Bentonville's newest sandwich craze — Archie's Sandwichery.
🚲 The vibe: It's a relaxed and trendy sandwich shop on Walton Boulevard with covered outdoor seating and bicycle-friendly parking.
🥪 What I ate: A small Crispy Boi ($11) with turkey, pesto, potato chips, havarti cheese, cucumber, lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo and mustard. (Get a large for $17.)
- It's served cold, and the cucumbers and chips add a nice crunch.
- I also took a few bites of the Gabagool ($11 for a small or $18 for a large) with a mix of meats including soppressata, salami, capicola and ham topped with Calabrian relish, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo and mustard.
🎩 The intrigue: The menu includes caviar — yes, caviar — with some crème fraîche and Ruffles potato chips plus a martini for $40. Or a cannoli with Fruity Pebbles. Bastardization, funky, Instagram-ready — whatever you call it, it's a vibe.
The bottom line: While Archie's isn't an absolute must-try, you'll get your money's worth as they don't skimp on their sandwiches. With a build your own option and a variety on the menu, I'll be back when I want to share a $17 meal with someone on a chill patio.
