Springdale now has a little taste of New York City with an NYC Express Deli serving up quick eats.
😎 The vibe: As chill as it gets. The deli shares a space with a smoke shop and convenience store, so you can buy a pipe while waiting for your sandwich. And the indoor seating is actual lawn chairs.
🍳 Yes, but: The food is legit. And all hail a place that serves breakfast sandwiches all day — until midnight — for as cheap as $5.
🍗 What to try: The chicken over rice ($11) has spot-on flavors. It's served with a yogurt-based sauce, olives, chopped cucumber and tomato. And the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich ($6) is a classic done right.
🍔 Zoom out: You'll also find a Famous Chopped burger, Philly cheesesteak, gyros and some other classic sandwiches on the menu.
🗽 Caveat: I have eaten at a deli like this in New York City exactly one time in my life, so I cannot say with authority how this place stacks up to its namesake. But I can tell you it's officially on my list of places to grab an inexpensive and delicious bite.
