Developers held a beam-signing ceremony for a four-story commercial building in Rogers dubbed The Visionary on Wednesday.
The big picture: It's the latest example of the furious growth of businesses and subsequent development in west Rogers since the turn of the century.
- Nestlé will be the anchor tenant and "two or three" letters of intent by others mean the building may be 50% leased by the time it's complete, Tom Allen of Sage Partners said.
Follow the money: Hunt Ventures in Rogers, led by billionaire developer and philanthropist Johnelle Hunt, is the owner. Cushman & Wakefield/Sage Partners will be the building's property manager and leasing agent.
- Hunt is the widow of J.B. Hunt, who was one of the visionaries behind the thriving Pinnacle Hills area of Rogers.
By the numbers: More than 85 miles of cable were built into the floors of the 400,000-square-foot building.
- Nearly 2 million pounds of steel were used.
- More than 28,000 cubic yards of concrete were poured during its construction (a standard pickup bed holds about 2.5 cubic yards).
What's next: The Visionary is scheduled to open next summer.
