Bentonville Fashion Week planned for June

• The event will also serve as a fundraiser for Springdale-based nonprofit One Community.

Context: The new event comes as Interform, NWA's flagship fashion-focused nonprofit, announced last month that it would dissolve because of "significant financial challenges." An Interform representative declined to comment further at this time as the board is still in the process of dissolving the company.

• Interform was the result of two previous organizations that merged and hosted fashion shows, mentorships and workshops.
• Torres worked for Interform as its director of education programming and engagement.

Zoom out: Torres wants Bentonville Fashion Week to serve as a platform for local and regional fashion mavens who need opportunities in the industry, he said.

• Bentonville Fashion Week will also host a model bootcamp this month to train aspiring models.

What's next: They plan to have two fashion weeks a year, with one being planned in the fall at the Pinnacle Hills Promenade in Rogers.
