I came to CALMO Coffee in Rogers for coffee but soon got distracted by the "croffle" menu.
🧇 State of play: A croffle is croissant dough in waffle form served with your choice of sweet toppings. I opted for the Bananutella ($9) with banana, nutella and whipped cream. It was delicious.
- Apparently, croffles became a social media trend after first becoming popular in South Korea. They were new to me.
- Some of CALMO's other croffle options include strawberry cream cheese, oreo chocolate and caramel biscoff.
☕️ Zoom out: I also landed on an ube latte ($6.50). Ube is a purple yam that I'm obsessed with, and it's increasingly popping up in desserts and other menu items.
- CALMO's menu also includes some matcha options.
😌 The vibe: The place is appropriately named because it is indeed chill. Think a quiet and tranquil aesthetic that allows you to eat your croffle in peace.
