I love a good Mediterranean food find, especially one that piles my favorite things onto a pita bread.
🧆 State of play: Casa Doner, just across the street from the new Walmart headquarters campus, is serving up a falafel pizza with hummus and harissa spread onto pita bread and topped with falafel and tomato.
- It's a simple yet fun dish where you get a sampler of common Mediterranean flavors in one bite.
- Most importantly, the falafel is done right, and I'd go back just for a plain plate of falafel.
- It's cut into four pieces, so you can order it as an appetizer and share the joy.
🥙 The vibe: This casual diner is great to pop in for lunch or dinner. Make your own bowl with chicken, beef or falafel plus your choice of rice and toppings and take it to go.
🍗 Also, try: The chicken shawarma, a go-to for a reason, is well-seasoned and will leave you feeling full but not stuffed.
