Inside a strip mall on Walton Boulevard is a serious gem of a restaurant.
🇵🇰 State of play: I tried Pakistani food for the first time at BBQ King and am thankful to have the opportunity to do so here in NWA.
- If you're a fan of Indian cuisine, you'll likely also enjoy a Pakistani restaurant. You'll find biryanis and dishes like tikka masala and tandoori chicken.
🥘 What I ate: The Murghe chole ($20), a tomato-based curry with chicken and chickpeas. Plus the chicken karahi ($18), a curry with tomatoes, ginger and garlic. Both were delicious and full of flavor.
- Unlike most Thai and Indian curries, these did not come with rice and were on the drier, not-so-soupy side.
🫓 The intrigue: I had to order the Afghani naan mostly because I wanted proof that King BBQ would deliver with a 30-inch naan. They did, and you may as well see for yourself for $6.
- We also started off with paratha, a thin pancake-like flatbread stuffed with paneer.
