Six bills we're watching in the Arkansas legislature

🧑‍🏫 HB1062 would create the Teacher and Student Protection Act of 2025 and make it so a student who has been removed from a classroom for violent or abusive behavior more than two times during a nine-week period cannot return to that classroom.

• A student who is removed from class more than three times in one school year because of violent or abusive behavior would be expelled or placed in an alternative learning environment.

📚 HB1060 would require "the perils of communism and autocratic governments" to be taught in public schools.

🩺 HB1061 would require the state's Medicaid program to cover glucose monitors for patients with gestational diabetes.

🎣 HB1059 would give truck drivers who provide information to law enforcement that results in a human trafficking conviction or rescue of a human trafficking victim a free lifetime hunting and fishing license.

🗳 HB1064 would amend the state's absentee voting law to make being 65 or older an eligible reason to vote absentee.
