Bentonville's 2025 budget includes new parks and recreation projects, library staff

Zoom in: The budget includes 3.5% raises for staff and 13 new staff positions.

• Six are for the library, which recently reopened after an expansion. Four of those are part-time.
• Five are maintenance workers in the Parks and Recreation Department. The streets and electric departments will also each gain one staff member.

Some key purchases planned for next year include:

🌳 About $6.95 million on Parks and Recreation projects and equipment including:

• ⛏ $2 million on maintenance shop construction.
• 🪑 $1.5 million on furniture and equipment at the new adult recreation center that's under construction.
• 🚧 $1.75 million on trails.
• 🏋️‍♀️ $60,000 on fitness equipment for the community center.
• 🚲 $9,000 on e-bikes for trails.

👮‍♀️ About $1.68 million in police equipment including:

• 🚓 $690,000 on replacing 12 patrol vehicles.
• 🖥 $375,000 on new computers and docks for the new computers.
• 🚨 $276,000 on emergency equipment.

🛣 About $1.13 million on sidewalks and $2.29 million on streets.

⚡️ About $10.38 million on several electrical projects, the largest being a $4 million transmission line.

💧 About $3.33 million in sewer rehabilitation.

🚒 About $661,000 on equipment for the Fire Department including $360,000 on cardiac monitors.
