Axios NWA Does: Cooking class at Bentonville Provisions

• The class I attended opened my eyes to all the things you can put on toast to make them filling party bites.
• We made three different kinds, and I never would have combined pulled pork and a goat cheese spread or known I needed to learn to make a tomato jam unless someone showed me the light.

🍞 How it works: Some of the more complicated, time-consuming foods were already made, but the instructor explained how to make them and sent us home with recipes. But otherwise, this is a hands-on Sunday afternoon where you'll be doing the cooking.

🍷 The vibe: The food was elevated, but the atmosphere was low-key and comfortable. My friend and I sautéed mushrooms side by side sipping wine and chatting.

👩‍🍳 Context: I am not a terribly green home chef if I do say so myself, but I learned several tips and tricks in just one class that I'll actually use in my real-life kitchen.

• The instructor walked us step-by-step, so even if you are a terrible green home chef, it should be easy to follow along.

💰 By the numbers: The class I attended cost $75, which included getting to eat the food we made. And they kept the wine coming.
