What we're sipping: Creative cocktails at Hardwater Cocktail Room

Bentonville's newest cocktail bar had me asking questions like, "What is carrot foam, and what's it doing in my drink?"

The vibe: Hardwater Cocktail Room at the Town Branch apartment complex is a swanky bar with dark hues, plush couches and a creative menu that includes a charcuterie board with mysterious selections.

Translation: It's loud and dark and fancy and cool. And the drinks are stellar.

🍸 What to try: The Secret Garden ($11), a bourbon drink with matcha syrup and lemon soda. The carrot foam and pistachio crumble on top is weirdly good and something I've never had anywhere else.

I happen to be a bourbon fan, but I will say this doesn't have a strong bourbon flavor, so you're safe to give it a try if that's not your liquor of choice.
🌶 Try the Sting Operation ($13) for some spice. This serrano-infused gin cocktail with Thai basil honey and lemon has a generous amount of tajín, a spice blend with chili peppers.

📍 Stop by: 4-11pm Tuesday through Thursday and 4pm to 12:15am Friday and Saturday at 321 SE D St. Unit 101 in Bentonville.
