If I drive out on a gravel road, there better be a good beer at the end of it.
State of play: Orthodox Farmhouse Brewery — a good 20-minute trip from downtown Fayetteville into rural western Washington County — gave me the good beer. And an unbelievably serene place to drink it.
🚜 The vibe: This is a place to come slow it down. It's surrounded by nothing but fresh air and grass and you feel like you're sitting on the porch of a farmhouse totally unplugged.
🍻 What to try: Definitely go for a flight ($12 for four pours) because the beers here are so worth trying and savoring.
- Any standard beer drinker should try the Vittles, a farmhouse ale using a saison yeast. The Stout is full-bodied, and I want a pint of it this winter.
📍 Stop by: 4-9pm Wednesday through Friday, 2-9pm Saturday and 2-8pm Sunday at 15660 Ball Road in Elkins
