Following an historic national debate between former President Trump and Vice President Harris, people recognize the general election on Nov. 5 is getting ever closer — it's just 54 days away.
Why it matters: Voter turnout for general elections is typically higher than in primaries, but only about 54% of Arkansans registered to vote went to the polls in 2020. Voting in every election is the best way to make sure your voice is heard on issues you care about.
Dates to know
- Voter registration applications are due Oct. 7. Applications are available in English and Spanish.
- Absentee ballot applications must be submitted in person or by a designated bearer by Nov. 1; by Oct. 29 if filed electronically; or by 1:30pm on election day if done by an authorized agent.
