Downtown Rogers is home to a cafe catering to a specific clientele — anime fans who like bubble tea.
Background: Anime is a style of Japanese animation (like Pokémon) that has a dedicated fan base. You'll find stuffed animal-like versions of anime characters on the shelves at Anime Cafe.
Bubble tea is flavored tea with tapioca pearls. It originated in Taiwan.
Reality check: I'm not into anime or bubble tea. But I can't resist checking out any unique place in our region, so I found myself getting schooled.

How it works: Patrons select an iced, frozen or hot tea — green or black — and from 18 flavors like matcha, lavender or banana. I went with an iced green tea with taro. It didn't convert me, but I totally get the hype.
The vibe: The cafe is a fun little spot, especially to treat any kiddos into anime or to cool off with an iced nondairy and nonalcoholic drink.
