I've long been a fan of Saiwok in Rogers — especially its pho au jus — but it's in Rogers and most of my time is spent in Washington County.

The setup: The Swag Bánh Mì food truck opened earlier this year in south Fayetteville, giving me a new option for both Vietnamese street food and lackluster subs cranked out at deli franchises.

Dig in: The menu is simple, mostly focused on the sandwiches built on French baguettes, but also with choices of rice noodle bowls and bubble teas.

Each sandwich comes with mayo, pickled carrots and radish, cilantro, jalapeño and cucumber, and your choice of protein.
I opted for the Apocalypse Now, which is lemongrass grilled pork.

The verdict: The thin, crispy crust covering the airy bread is delightful.

Though pickled, the veggies pop with a freshness, and the meat — was there even a need for meat? — added a nice conservative hit of salty, savory flavor.
Swag is a new go-to spot for me.

Check it out: Located at 410 S. Government Ave. Open 11am-7pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday; noon-6pm Saturday and Sunday; closed Tuesday.
